iPhone And Android Endoscope Review

iPhone and Android Endoscope Review

As humans, we don’t have X-Ray vision.

Which means certain tasks/projects can be difficult without a flexible pair of eyes.

An ingenious tool to get around this limitation is an endoscope(medical uses usually) or borescope.

There’s no need to spend $500 on a brand new one with tons of industrial uses. It’d be simpler to just find a endoscope for your smartphone and there are plenty of iPhone and Android endoscopes to choose from on the market. In this article we’ll take a look at 3 and keep it quick and concise.

Bluefire Semi-Rigid WiFi Borescope – iPhone and Android Endoscope

Bluefire iPhone And Android Endoscope

If you’re looking for something more rigid and in tight places, this is the perfect borescope for you.

It’s affordable and works with Android, iPhone, and Windows.

Also, if it’s labeled as an endoscope or borescope, that just means small camera on a wire used to see in tight spaces. While endoscopes are traditionally for medical purpose, either work well for small around the house projects.

The Downside?
The battery on a full charge only lasts 2 hours. But I can’t imagine many projects you’d need to see something for 2 hours straight.

Finally, the Bluefire supports video recording of AVI format and capturing pictures in JPEGs. Also, this smartphone endoscope comes with 6 adjustable settings for LED lighting on the camera, is 2 meters long, and roughly 8mm in diameter.

SanSiDo Smartphone Endoscope and Borescope – Wireless and Waterproof

SanSiDo Smartphone Endoscope

Our next option has similar capabilities as the last one with a few different features. The SanSiDo Endoscope comes with support for iPhones 4s to 7, and all Android phones.

It also has similar JPEG and AVI image capturing with the same resolution options as the Bluefire borescope. In regards to rigid vs flexibility, this endoscope is rigid.

The Downside?
Sadly, the cable length is only 1 meter. Not a deal breaker, but should be taken into account based off your use.

Finally, the SanDiSo Endoscope is waterproof and has 6 LEDs for lighting. Also, it comes with a few extra packaged items including a small hook, magnet, and mirror. However, the SanDiSo is 1mm thicker than the Bluefire borescope, measuring at 9mm. Another upside is the app that is used for the borescope. SanDiSo has monthly updates based off customer input and focuses on improving functionality.
